Kerala is known as “God’s Own Country” due to its breathtaking beauty, myriad cultural shades, congenial people, and lipsmacking, healthy cuisines that have been influenced by various cultures inside and outside India. Primarily chillies, coconut, mustard, tamarind, curry leaves and turmeric are profusely sued in most of the dishes. Curd is a significant addition as well as accompaniment. Variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes are made and savoured by the people of Kerala. Kerala is also called the “land of Spices” de to the farming of spices like pepper corn, cardamom, cloves etc. Aviyal and Ishtu or Stew are two very significant dishes of kerala which are healthy, flavourful, and redolent of various influences from the kings and maharajas.
