Ages ago, an awe-inspiring, magnificent entity was born, who was lord vishnu incarnate, and who was sent to put some order in the anarchy prevailing. And Bhagwat Gita was born. But the God who was known to be playful and serious at the same time, wise and childilike in the same breath, omnipotent and most down to earth Gods of all times, is still revered and treated like a child, or a young naughty lad or the wise man who lights the path at every juncture of any Hindu’s life. Lord Krishna’s 5245th birthday would be celebrated on the shuklapaksh of ‘Bhado’ month, on 2nd by Brahmans and Pandits and 3rd by Vaishnavs.
Sehat Ki Rasoi would thus celebrate this day by cooking some traditional dishes of Mithila, cooked by Rupali Jha, with Anchor Geetika Ganju
Food of Mithila is usually made of available ad seasonal ingredients, and is simple, tasty and flavourful. Use of panchphoran, mustard oil, ghee, mustard seed paste, and less oil can be seen. Vegetables are cooked mildly, and some of the traditional ingredients like ‘Teesi’ or flaxseed are still used, which have become quite popular. In Sehat Ki Rasoi, traditional ” Teesi Sajmen” that is LAUKI WITH FLAXSEED would be cooked together with the very unique and popular leaf TILKORA TADUA or Pakora would be an accompaniment. All without onions & garlic.

Watch on Sept 3rd, and learn the goodness of traditional food from the land of Mithila…
