Food is the soul of India. And Festivals are the lifeline..
That is why, delicious and delicately seasoned food are an inseparable part of all Indian festivals. Hindus prefer Sattvik and specific food made for fasting . Hindu scriptures have special mention of “Prasad” and “Naivaidya”that are offered to the Gods during the festivals. Festivals can be the birthdays ( Janmashtmi) marriage days ( Shivratri) of deities or can be celebrating a significant occasion related with the deities( Diwali, Dussehra). India comprises many religions cohabiting together in a very close-knit society. Each religious community enjoys certain festivals which call for special food and delicacies. Sometimes it is to break the fast, sometimes to eat together with family and friends, and mostly to offer to the gods and goddesses.
Sehat Ki Rasoi would be celebrating three festivals in August and September, by preparing special delicacies that can be eaten during those festivals which are Rakhi, Janmashtmi and Ganesh Chaturthi.
